Sodium Nitrite
Many industrial applications of sodium nitrite are based on its oxidizing properties and its decomposition in an acid solution to nitrous acid. Since nitrous acid is instable, sodium nitrite serves as the principal source of nitrous acids in a number of organic syntheses. Two of the more important uses of nitrous acid in organic syntheses are in the diazotization and nitrosation of organic amines. Sodium nitrite is also used in the surface treatment of metals.

Potassium Chloride
Our Pure-K KCl performs many functions in industry.  It serves as a key component in tantalum powder manufacture, a laboratory reagent, a reducing agent for metals, and a buffering agent for solutions.  It is also used in photographic emulsions, welding fluxes and metal plating.

Potassium Hydroxide Pellets and Sodium Hydroxide Pellets
Our high quality caustic pellets are used in the industrial market as etchants in semiconductor wet processing, bleaching agents in the textile market, mercerizing products for cotton treatment, alkalis in the production of alkaline, nickel-cadmium, and nickel-metal hydride batteries.  In addition, they are used in fuel cells and as a catalyst in biofuel production.   Within the chemical industry, General Chemcial's  pellets are used as a neutralizer and for alkalinity control.  Our potassium hydroxide pellets also are essential for the manufacture of potassium carbonate and tetra-potassium pyrophosphate and can be used in the absorption of NO₃, SO₃, and CO₂ in gas streams.

Aluminum Based Coagulants
Our extensive line of aluminum based products, (Aluminum Sulfate, aluminum chlorohydrate (ACH), polyaluminum chloride (PACl), and aluminum chloride) and experience in manufacturing these products have lead us to many applications in the industrial market.   Our aluminum based products can be used in the production of aluminosilicate catalysts and zeolites, wallboard, dyes, aluminum soaps and greases, clay, and many other well known products.
