Proven Products & Innovative Application Expertise
General Chemical was formed in 1899 when Nichols Chemical joined eleven other well-established chemical makers in one of the industry’s first major mergers. In 1921, we merged with four chemical companies to form Allied Chemical & Dye Corporation. General Chemical reemerged in 1986 as a stand-alone company. General Chemical was first publically traded in 1996. After several acquisitions, the business grew substantially.
Today, General Chemical operates within GenTek. With nearly 50 North American production facilities, General Chemical delivers high-quality products where and when they are needed. We stand behind our products with solid technical support. We are one of the leading producers across every business we service.
